Playing the long game
Thoughts on patience, persistence, and building something that can last beyond the next milestone.
Think beyond the next milestone
It is easy to measure progress by the next launch, deal, or announcement. But the businesses I want to build should be judged by what they become over years, not just what they achieve in a single month. Long-term thinking encourages better questions: Are we solving a real problem? Are we earning trust? Can this work endure?
Patience is active
Playing the long game does not mean waiting around. It means doing the necessary work consistently, even when the results are not immediate. You still have to make decisions, learn quickly, and take calculated risks. Patience gives those efforts direction rather than replacing them.
Build something worth continuing
I believe leadership is partly about creating a standard that survives any one milestone. The strongest foundation is built through accountability, curiosity, and a willingness to improve. Success is meaningful when it creates the opportunity to keep building, keep serving, and keep learning.
